When Warner Home Video (WHV) needed to move their video library management off pen and paper and on to technology driven system, they called on Sochai Consulting. The project entailed, a physical redesign of the library and storage facility, inventory and cataloging of tens of thousands of VHS and DVDs and developing a checkout system. We developed a set of requirements for the new workflow and technology, performed a vendor analysis and selection and developed custom software to meet the unique needs of WHV. Working with the facilities designed a new layout that was conducive to the new operating methods. The Sochai team configured the applications, implemented barcode scanning then, labeled and scanned 25,000 units to populate the video asset library search fields. Sochai Consulting wrote training manuals, cheat sheets and trained staff – team members even worked in the library as temporary staff during employee training and transitions.
